If it is on sunday, you guys could just leave really early in the morning and shift drive home, but 10 hours and then a kids party might be a fuckton to handle. Could blake leave late thursday night so that you could make up the lost time friday?
Blake has to work until 2:30 on Friday, so at our fastest we’d still get to VA pretty late at night. I’d have to be at the party by 1:30, so we’d/I’d have to leave either late Saturday night or really really early Sunday morning, and I’d feel bad asking Blake to do that. I’m pretty sure I’d be okay energy-wise though.
You could suggest someone else handle the birthday party. Alternately, are you normally okay with driving for ten hours, or is Blake okay with leaving earlier?
I’ve actually never made a drive longer than about an hour and a half, so I don’t know how I’d do driving 10 hours straight on the interstate.
I think I might mention it to Cassie as a possible conflict, and then wait for a confirmation from the professor before getting into logistics with her and Blake. If I can’t work it out, I can always give Dr. Carter a friend’s name.

This is the thing that really has me wanting to do it, because meeting local parents + getting along with their kids could equal getting babysitting jobs around here, which would be a good source of income.
